‚A-Maze-ing‘ Boeing 787 Dreamliner Featured in Local Attraction

Puget Sound area residents will get a unique look this year at Boeing’s [NYSE: BA] newest commercial airplane — the super-efficient 787 Dreamliner — when they visit Stocker Farms in the city of Snohomish.

EVERETT – The Boeing Company partnered with Stocker Farms to feature the 787 Dreamliner as the design of the farm’s annual corn maze. This year’s corn maze will use a series of trails throughout the 10-acre field to create the design of a 787 Dreamliner airplane. The theme of this year’s maze, „Outstanding in Our Field,“ represents The Boeing Company’s commitment to excellence and innovation in aerospace and Stocker Farms‘ excellence and innovation in agritainment (agricultural entertainment) to help maintain a high quality of life in the region.

„Boeing is proud that Snohomish County is the home of the 787 Dreamliner. It has been a pleasure to partner with Stocker Farms in creating an attraction that spotlights our new airplane and will bring the community together to celebrate the accomplishments of our local employees,“ said Jeff Hawk, 787 Certification, Environment, Government, and SHEA director. „When this airplane enters service in 2008, the world will be grateful to the men and women of this region who have created an airplane that is the environmental leader in our industry because it is more fuel efficient, produces fewer emissions and is quieter for airport communities.“

„I’m very pleased to partner with the Boeing Company for this year’s maze,“ said Keith Stocker, of Stocker Farms. „By using innovative ideas, such as the corn maze, we are providing families with unique and memorable experiences and preserving the pristine landscape of the Snohomish valley, which I believe improves the quality of life within the community.“

This is Stocker Farms sixth year designing corn mazes, with each year’s maze taking on a different theme. The corn maze opens Friday, Sept. 22, and runs through Oct. 31. Hours of operation for the maze are Wednesdays and Thursdays, 4 to 9 p.m.; Fridays, 4 to 10 p.m.; Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., Sundays 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. The maze is closed Mondays and Tuesdays. The Boeing 787 Dreamliner, scheduled for delivery beginning in 2008, provides passengers with a better flying experience and operators with a more efficient commercial jetliner. Using 20 percent less fuel per passenger than similarly sized airplanes, the 787 is designed for the environment with lower emissions and quieter takeoffs and landings. Inside the airplane, passengers will find cleaner air, bigger windows, more stowage space and improved lighting.

Since the 787 launch in April 2004, 32 customers have logged 420 orders and commitments, of which 377 are firm orders valued at $59 billion at current list prices, making the Dreamliner the most successful commercial airplane launch in history.
