Newest tenants offer food, apparel, jewelry, gifts and art

HONOLULU, WAIKIKI, OAHU – Well known brands such as Quiksilver and Wyland Galleries are among the newest tenants that have just signed on to be a part of Waikiki Beach Walk(tm), Outrigger Enterprises‘ $460 million redevelopment that is transforming nearly eight acres in the heart of Waikiki into a new
and vibrant pedestrian-friendly gathering place, which is set to open this December.

„We are very excited to announce the addition of these great stores,“ said David Carey, President and CEO of Outrigger Enterprises. „As the opening of Waikiki Beach Walk is nearing, it is gratifying to see tenants of this caliber joining us for what will be the beginning of a Waikiki renaissance.“

Hawaii’s newest Quiksilver store at Waikiki Beach Walk will be one of the company’s signature stores, opening as the ninth free-standing store within the state. With a 6,200 square foot all-wood store, the well-known brand will offer shoppers casual lifestyle-driven apparel, accessories and surfboards, in a locally-inspired setting. Quiksilver, which is scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2007, will occupy a prime street-level location on the corner of Kalakaua Avenue and Lewers Street.

For art-minded shoppers, Wyland Galleries is moving from their current Kalakaua Avenue location to Waikiki Beach Walk. There, shoppers will discover beautiful fine-art caliber ocean paintings and other ocean art by Wyland, the renowned marine life artist. From whale portraits to dolphin sculptures, Wyland Galleries is an art collector’s paradise. The gallery will be opening during the first quarter 2007 and is located on the ground floor next to Quiksilver.
Diners in the mood for some Italian flair will be excited to take a shopping break at the new Sicilian eatery, Luna Sicilian Cuisine. Located at the corner of Lewers Street and Don Ho Lane, diners will enjoy casual Italian fare in an indoor/outdoor café atmosphere when it opens in late December.

Blue Ginger is returning to Lewers Street, opening in just about the same spot it occupied prior to construction of Waikiki Beach Walk. Appealing to locals and travelers, the company’s eleventh Hawaii store will sell its signature soft cotton and rayon batik-print clothing that is designed in Hawaii. Blue Ginger carries a wide assortment of ladies, children’s and infants‘ wear, as well as men’s aloha shirts and gift items. Matching prints are also available for the entire family to enjoy. The store will be opening early December and is located street level in the Wyndham Vacations Hawaii-Waikiki Beach Walk.

Modeled after a market square, Banana Wind will provide shoppers with beautiful Polynesian treasures perfect for adding island style to your home décor or to be given as gifts. Just as a real trading post, the store is divided into departments such as coastal living, wild tiki barware, bamboo accessories and more. Each item is displayed with a detailed description that explains where the item was found, what makes it unique, and what materials it’s made of. From the infectious world beat rhythms that fill the air to the enthusiastic staff who love to share their favorite discoveries, Banana Wind will offer a shopping experience like no other. The store will be opening in early December and is located on the second floor near Holokai
Grill.

For shoppers looking for a sentimental memento of Hawaii, Prime Jewelry will be moving from their Outrigger Reef location to Waikiki Beach Walk. When it opens in early December, the store will feature a wide assortment of mid-priced to fine jewelry and will be located on the second floor next to Kai Wa Restaurant.

Adding to an already impressive list of apparel stores is Alter Ego. Opening the company’s third Hawaii location at Waikiki Beach Walk, the store’s focus is on casual, urban-street style clothing and accessories. The store will carry popular clothing lines such as Volcom, Billabong, Hurley, and Store Original T-Shirts to name a few. The store will be opening in early December and is located on the ground floor near Mondo Gelato.

Oasis is a fresh, new apparel store opening on the ground level next to Yard House Restaurant. This casually chic store will reflect the pleasure of the resort experience and the beautiful elements that make Hawaii special. Guests will be greeted with a cool towel scented with hints of islands flowers plus a soothing glass of plantation ice tea. When wandering the store, patrons will find unique jewelry, great accessories and favorite basics in fun, island prints, all perfect to be worn at home or while on vacation.

Peter Lik Gallery opens its seventh gallery worldwide at Waikiki Beach Walk — only two others are in the United States, on Maui and in Las Vegas. Entering the Australian photographer’s gallery is a total sensory experience. Lik’s photographs include eye-catching subjects like soulful portraits of the vast heartland deserts to the pristine beauty of the reefs and rainforests. The 2,000 square foot gallery will be opening in mid December and is located on the ground floor of the new retail center.

One of Waikiki Beach Walk’s most unique store concepts is Hawaiian Isles Virtual Tours. A brand new store, it’s being built to replicate a Hollywood studio set so that visitors may think they have walked right into the filming of a movie. Using new chroma key technology, the store  will shoot custom digital videos of customers „flying“ a hang glider, which never actually leaves the ground. In just five minutes, customers will be able to take home and show friends a video of themselves flying over all the amazing sights of the Hawaiian Islands. The store will be opening in early December and is located on the street level of Wyndham Vacation Hawaii-Waikiki Beach
Walk next to Blue Ginger.

Transplanted from the beautiful beaches of Malibu is the Waikiki Beach Beauty and Apothecary. This beauty boutique will carry the best and trendiest bath and beauty lines from around the world. The professionals at Waikiki Beach Beauty and Apothecary will help visitors discover the latest hard to find beauty products and take them home to pamper themselves with all year round. The store will be opening in December and is located on the second floor.

The entertainment-retail center within Outrigger’s Waikiki Beach Walk project is being developed by WBW Retail, LLC, a partnership between Outrigger Enterprises Group and local developer Richard Gushman. For complete information on Waikiki Beach Walk, log on at www.waikikibeachwalk.com.

About Waikiki Beach Walk
Waikiki Beach Walk is the largest development project ever to be undertaken in Waikiki’s history. The 7.9 acre area, bordered by Kalakaua Avenue, Lewers Street, Kalia Road, Beach Walk and Saratoga Road, will be completely rebuilt and emerge as a vibrant showcase and gathering place in the new Waikiki. With a total cost of $460 million, it will feature an outdoor entertainment plaza, 40 new retailers, six great restaurants, and four hotels. Incorporating a design theme that celebrates Hawaii’s voyaging and ocean
heritage and takes advantage of the island’s cooling trade winds and
year-round excellent weather, Waikiki Beach Walk will be the consummate expression of Hawaii today — a place where people come to be enlivened with warm hospitality, a rich confluence of cultures, and nature’s precious gifts from land and sea. The project is planned to be completed in November 2006.
