US Airways (NYSE: LCC) is teeing up extra flights for customers traveling to Augusta, Ga. for one of the world’s premier sporting events — The Masters(TM).

TEMPE, Ariz – The expanded service will begin March 30 and continue through April 9.

US Airways will increase and upgrade its current schedule of six daily flights from Charlotte, N.C. to Augusta flights to nine flights on select days. The increased service will be operated by 50-seat Dash-8s and by 70-seat and 86-seat regional jets. Additionally, the airline will offer special fares for Augusta-originating customers during this increased service period.

The airline will also implement special nonstop service between Augusta and New York City’s LaGuardia Airport and Philadelphia on select peak travel days.

[GADS_NEWS]„Once again we are thrilled to provide extra service at Augusta as the demand rises for air travel associated with one of golf’s most storied tournaments,“ said US Airways Senior Vice President Scheduling, Planning and Alliances Andrew Nocella. „Customers will enjoy both convenient departure times into and out of Augusta as well as smooth connecting opportunities at our New York – LaGuardia, Philadelphia and Charlotte operations.“

The upgraded and additional Charlotte-Augusta flights will operate March 30 through April 9. Special nonstop service to Philadelphia and New York will operate April 2 through April 9.

Fares can be purchased immediately at usairways.com, by calling 800-428-4322 or through a travel agent.

Part or all of the service may be provided by US Airways Express carriers Air Midwest, Air Wisconsin, Chautauqua, Colgan, Mesa, Piedmont, PSA, Republic and Trans States. Part or all of the service may be operated by America West or United Airlines(R).
