Iberia ADDS A NEW SPAIN-TURKEY FLIGHT

A new Saturday Madrid-Istanbul return flight raises weekly total to nine. The Spanish airline posted an 8.4% increase in passengers on the route in January-October

Iberia is raising to nine its weekly connections between Madrid and Istanbul, with a new flight on Saturdays. The new frequency departs from Madrid at 9.10 and arrives in Istambul at 14.10. The return flight leaves the Atatürk airport at 15.10 and lands at Madrid airport at 18.25.

The move comes in response to a sharp increase in passenger traffic on the route. In the January-October period, Iberia carried 8.4% more passengers between to the two capital cities than in the same period of 2005.

[GADS_NEWS]Meanwhile, the number of Turkish residents who belong to the Iberia Plus frequent flyers programme has grown by 18.67% over the past year, to a total of 1,570. Among other advantages, members can obtain free or deeply discounted flights, hotel stays, car rentals, tickets to cultural or sporting events, and package tours.

From its Madrid hub, Iberia flies to other 34 Spanish cities, to 17 Latin American destinations, to Chicago, Miami, and New York in the United States, and to seven cities in Africa.

Last year it posted sales of more than 5,603 million euros and net earnings of 395.8 million. It is also one Spain’s most outstanding companies in terms of social, economic, and environmental policies.
