American Airlines AAdvantage Members Who Open a New Fidelity Brokerage Account Can Now Earn Miles Toward Award Travel

FORT WORTH, Texas and BOSTON. – American Airlines and Fidelity Investments announced Fidelity’s participation in the AAdvantage ® program. AAdvantage program members will be able to earn thousands of miles toward award travel when they become a new customer and open a brokerage account at Fidelity.

“We strive to provide valuable offerings that benefit AAdvantage members,” said Kurt Stache, President of American’s AAdvantage Program. “We are pleased to work with Fidelity Investments, and this new offering further enhances what is already the industry’s largest travel rewards program.”

By becoming a new Fidelity customer and opening a first brokerage account, AAdvantage members can earn the following miles:

  • 5,000 miles for a deposit of $2,500 – $9,999
  • 15,000 miles for $10,000 – $49,999, and
  • 25,000 miles for deposits of $50,000 or more

“We see a great synergy between American’s customers, who lead active lives, and our own customer base,” said Claire Huang, Executive Vice President of Marketing at Fidelity Investments. “Through this alliance, AAdvantage members now have the opportunity to earn additional AAdvantage miles, while also receiving Fidelity’s comprehensive financial guidance and retirement planning, product and service offerings.”

This agreement is the latest in a series of major agreements of this type for Fidelity. The company recently announced a new agreement with Amazon Services, an Amazon.com, Inc. company, which includes premier sponsorship of leading online retailer Amazon’s first financial services “store,” as well as advertising throughout the Amazon.com site.
