Thailand + Myanmar: CROSS-BORDER DEVELOPMENTS

Bus services between Thailand and Lao PDR. are available in 3 routes including Udon Thani – Vientiane, Nong Khai – Vientiane and Ubon Ratchathani – Pakse.

 

·    A second Thai-Lao Friendship bridge linking the western Laotian province of Savannakhet and the northeastern Thai province of Mukdahan is set for completion in 2007.

·    A second Thai-Burmese friendship bridge has been constructed, linking Mae Sai district to Tachilek in Myanmar. The bridge officially opened on 22nd January  2006. This bridge will go a long way toward facilitating road travel between  Myanmar and Thailand.
