Prince Felipe receives the Dean’s Medal at the farewell ceremony of Wharton Global Alumni Forum

Thomas S. Robertson, dean of the prestigious business school, has given the Medal to the Prince for his outstanding work on behalf of Spain’s economic, commercial, and cultural interests.

Madrid – Prince Felipe has been awarded the Dean’s Medal at the Farewell ceremony of Wharton Global Alumni Forum celebrated in Madrid, which has convened international and regional leaders of business, government, and academia.

 

His Royal Highness, accompanied by his wife Princess Letizia, was honoured to receive the Medal for his role as head of the Prince of Asturias Foundation and the newly formed Prince of Gerona, which promotes the development and promotion of youth.

 

The Wharton Dean’s Medal is the highest honour awarded by the academic institution, which in previous years has recognized the work of government and business celebrities, including Alan Greenspan, César Gaviria, Álvaro Uribe and Shimon Peres.

 

The Wharton Global Alumni Forum was held in Madrid on 24th – 25th, convening leading figures such as Ángel Cano Fernandez, CEO of BBVA, Ana Patricia Botín, Chairman of Banesto; Talef Rifai, Secretary General for WTO; Sebastian Escarrer, Vice-chairman of Sol Meliá, María Garaña, managing director of Microsoft Spain, Lady Barbara Judge, Chairwoman of UK Atomic Energy Authority, and Amparo Moraleda, COO International Division of Iberdrola, amongst others.
