Lisboa leads the ranking of best hostels in the world, featuring four hotels in the top ten of the Hoscars 2009, the oscars of this hotel category. Travellers House, Lisbon Lounge Hostel, Goodnight Backpackers Hostel are the three members of Lisboa Tourism that feature in this list.
They rank first, third and eighth respectively in the Hoscars ratings (Hostelworld Customer Annual Ratings), attributed by the website Hostelworld. Travellers House also won the „Best Location“ and „Best Personality“ category, whilst Lisbon Lounge Hostel was considered the cleanest. Hostelworld is one of the online booking sites with more than 20 thousand hostels competing for the awards. The winners were chosen by 800 thousand clients from all over the world, who booked online and classified the hostels according to six criteria: character, security, location, staff, fun and cleaning.
