Lufthansa introduces greater flexibility and speed for travellers
As of now Lufthansa passengers have the possibility to make all flight preparations in advance of their journey. From the choice of a flight via the booking right through to check-in and printing of their boarding card, it can all be done from the office or on the home PC. The only requirements are an electronic ticket (etix), internet access and a commercially available printer. Lufthansa passengers, who are in possession of an online boarding card and are only travelling with hand baggage, can make their way directly to the security control and thus have greater flexibility and time to spare. For travellers with luggage, at most Lufthansa stations separate baggage acceptance desks are available to them where they can check-in their baggage quickly and conveniently.
The production of the boarding card is child’s play for the customer: after checking in on the Internet at www.lufthansa.com, another window opens automatically on the PC’s monitor with the online boarding card. With a click this can be printed out. The printed card contains all the flight-relevant information like name of the traveller or flight number as well as a 2D barcode for the purpose of authentication and for right of access right to the gate area. Online check-in and printout of the online boarding card are possible for all departures on the same day as well as from 18.00 hrs., for all departures on the following day.
[GADS_NEWS]Initially, the online boarding card will be available on all flights between Frankfurt, Munich, Hamburg, Düsseldorf, Stuttgart, Berlin, Cologne and Hanover. As of next year, the service will be extended to further flights within the worldwide route network.
