The US news agency Associated Press (AP) recommends Lisboa as a holiday destination. Published this month, the report by journalist Paul Ames highlights the city’s beauty and charm, combined with a varied and competitive tourism offer.

„Lisboa is not only one of the sunniest capitals in Europe, but also one of the most beautiful“, according to the AP, in an article that highlights its rich history, good access and natural beauty of places like Belém, Rossio, Alfama, Chiado, Bairro Alto and Nations’ Park. One section of the report is dedicated to the no. 28 tram that has been travelling along the heart of the city for more than 90 years, describing it as the best tour of the city where you can feel its heartbeat and admire the beauty of its views. The article also highlights the city’s museums, be it for their unique and rich cultural heritage or for the magnitude of the settings in which they are housed, recommending the Calouste Gulbenkian Museum, National Art Museum, Tile Museum, Coach Museum and the Fado Museum.
The AP article does not limit itself to the city of Lisboa, it also suggests boat trips on the Tagus, where you can admire the city form the river, visit the beaches at the Costa da Caparica or watch a bullfight at Montijo. The town of Sintra with its romantic manors and fairy tale places and castles is also highlighted, as an alternative to the city’s hustle and bustle, as well as the beaches of Estoril and Cascais, just 30 minutes from Lisboa.
