Lufthansa Airlines: bmi services to Saudi Arabia

Bibles on board

Contrary to a misleading and inaccurate newspaper report, bmi has not banned bibles on services to Saudi Arabia. The UK Foreign Office issues guidelines which are openly available to everyone at www.fco.gov.uk to ensure that individuals and employers are aware of local laws, customs and practices throughout the world. This information is shared with operational crews to ensure they are familiar with these requirements, which in the case of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, carries specific references to religious materials. The airline is a responsible employer and as such treats the welfare and safety of its staff with the utmost importance. It also expects its staff to respect the local laws in force in all areas of the world where the airline operates.
