Continental Airlines announced that it has expanded the responsibilities of Nene Foxhall to oversee corporate communications.

Houston – She will also continue to oversee international and state affairs. Foxhall is taking responsibility for Continental’s corporate communications function, following the recent departure of Ned Walker. Walker left Continental to assume another position in the airline industry.

„Nene is a key member of our senior leadership team and is known for her professionalism and credibility,“ said Larry Kellner, Continental’s chairman and chief executive officer. „She will do a superb job leading our global corporate communications group.“

Foxhall has been a member of the senior leadership team at Continental since 1995 and has held responsibility for government relations at the city, state and international level. Her new role, including oversight of corporate communications, will add responsibility for employee communications, public relations, community affairs and media services.

From 1974 to 1976, she was a staff writer at the Dallas Morning News and from 1976 to 1990 at the Houston Chronicle, where she covered county government, civil and criminal courts and, from 1981 to 1990, politics, serving as political editor. From 1990 to 1995, she worked as an attorney at Mayor, Day, Caldwell & Keeton, LLP. She joined Continental in 1995 as vice president, state and civic affairs, with responsibility for local and state government relations. In 2005, her duties were expanded to include international government relations. She was named senior vice president in September 2007.

A native of Memphis, Texas, Foxhall earned a B.A. from Texas Tech University in 1974 and a J.D. from the University of Houston Law School, cum laude, in 1988.
