Iberia will display the commemorative logotype on all its aircraft to publicise the Spanish presidency of the EU

Madrid – Iberia Chairman and CEO, Antonio Vázquez, and the Undersecretary of the Prime Minister’s Office, Juan José Puerta, in the presence of the Senior Representative for the Spanish Presidency of the European Union, Nicolás Martínez-Fresno, signed an agreement making Iberia the official airline of the Spanish presidency of the EU, and the airline will display its logo on the entire Iberia fleet.

In addition, the agreement calls for both bodies to carry out joint actions to publicise the Spanish presidency aboard Iberia flights, and to support the company as official airline.

Today Iberia is Spain’s leading airline and also market leader on flights between Europe and Latin America. In 2008 it posted operating income of more than 5.45 billion euros and net earnings of 32 million, with an EBITDAR of 500 million. Iberia is also distinguished by its social, corporate, and environmental policies. Along with its franchise partner Iberia Regional, it operates some 1,000 flights every day to about 100 destinations. In 2008 Iberia carried 28.5 million passengers. Iberia is a member of the oneworld airline alliance, with an offer of 8,400 daily flights to 680 destinations in 134 countries.
