Iberia: Reservierungssystem für Fremdairlines

  • To manage reservations, passenger inventories, and invoices, among other tasks
  • Venezuela´s Santa Bárbara has used this system since the beginning of March and the Peru´s Star will use it starting in May
  • This brings to 17 the number of companies using Iberia’s IT systems

Iberia has signed contracts with the Venezuelan airline Santa Bárbara and the Peruvian Star Perú, allowing the two carriers to use the Spanish airline’s “Resiber” reservations management system, which improves service to passengers.

Santa Bárbara has used the system since the beginning of March to handle:

  • Internet air ticket sales

  • Control of inventory
  • Invoicing
  • Air ticket issue
  • Message switching
  • Loading manifest and weight balance
  • Auditing of passenger name records (PNR’s)

As of May, Star Perú will use the Resiber system to handle the following tasks:

  • Reservations
  • Internet air ticket sales
  • Control of inventory
  • Fares
  • Invoicing
  • Air ticket issue
  • Message switching
  • Loading manifest and weight balance

The two new contracts bring to a total of 17 the companies using Iberia’s IT systems:

  • Air Plus Comet
  • Amadeus
  • Binter Canarias
  • Bravo Airlines
  • Cubana
  • Gadair
  • Grupo LAN
  • Helicópteros del Sureste
  • Hotel Gran Hotel Ercilla, S.A.

Santa Bárbarais Venezuela’s leading airline, and was founded in 1996. It carries passengers, luggage, and freight to a number of domestic and international destinations.

Star Perú

has operated in Peru since 1998, and serves the Peruvian cities of Lima, Cuzco, Trujillo, Chiclayo, Juliaca, Pucalpa, Iquitos and Tarapoto. Its fleet consists of seven Boeing B737-200s.

Iberia is Spain’s leading airline and also leader on routes linking Europe with Latin America. It posted 2005 sales of more than 5.6 billion euros, and net earnings of 396 million euros. It is also distinguished by its commitment to socially and environmentally responsible conduct. Along with its franchise partner Iberia Regional, Iberia operates some 1,000 flights each day to about 100 different destinations. Last year Iberia carried a total of 32.4 million passengers.
